Rampion Wind Farm Tour - Brighton
Thursday 5th & Thursday 12th July 2018

Onshore Energy Conference is delighted to announce this incredible opportunity to visit one of the UK’s most established wind farms.

Rampion Wind Farm is located 8 miles off the Sussex coast, it has a total of 116 turbines, run by a network of cables from the onshore site and one offshore substation.

The tour will be conducted and run by Paul, captain of the boat Brighton Diver and his team.

During the tour you will get to see the size of the wind turbines up close and also gain knowledge on how the wind farm was built and how it operates today.

This visit offers the opportunity to network with other people with in your industry whilst also allowing you to gather a better understanding on how wind farms operate.

Onshore Energy Conference

Drax Power Station
Thursday 13th September 2018

Drax is the largest coal-fired power station in the UK, based in North Yorkshire. It is responsible for 6% of the UK’s power, plans to move forward onto cleaner renewable energy sources are in place at this station and it has gone through an incredible transformation by converting and upgrading some of its generating units to use sustainably compressed wood pellets instead of coal.

This visit includes 2 elements which will be guide led. The bus tour has stops to get closer to some of the structures on site like biomass domes and cooling towers, and the walking part of the tour is through the main generation areas. After the tour there will be a presentation from Darren Walker, with a Q&A.

This visit will allow you to gather a much broader understanding into the new laws that are being put into place for power stations to help the environment and industry become cleaner and more renewable source of power, as well as see the power station in full working order.

Sizewell B Power Station
Wednesday 10th October 2018

Sizewell B is a nuclear generating power station and sits just on the Suffolk coast, plans for the new construction of Sizewell C are currently in place.

This visit includes a tour of the power station and presentations from staff from both Sizewell B & C stations with Q&A.

The presentations will cover how Sizewell B is currently operating and how the plans and construction of site C are in place to help the power station grow. Names of presenters TBC.
